Nikon D50

Going bonkers for this gadget, help me!! The Nikon D50. It retails around 3k, but s1nach got his for around 2k something. So ngn gatalnye g usha kat Ebay.. but the one on ebay is a display unit sorta thing. So it has been exposed on the shelf. Really want it. haha. On ebay, the price plus the postage and handling, totals up to less than 2k. Most definitely. But then i'd have to think about laying it out for my dad to pay using his card.. leceh la plak.

Someone said that these things are cheaper in areas like Langkawi. Yummy. Now i have a good reason to head up north after raya. Tolong la cepat kaya.

Tolong la photography is not a passing phase for me. I've been taking pictures since I was in primary school, and now I have a fanatic roomate + her digital camera magazines + her affiliation-fling with s1nach.. what a combo. Its just that I haven't been too serious a photographer. Wish me luck. Better make it worth my while now.

masjid an-nur

I like taking pictures, and I think they all speak for themselves. So for this entry, I'm gonna put up pictures I enjoyed looking through (some were by ms.Radio).

Last night, my girlfriends and I successfully did the trawih prayers.. (20 rakaat..taniah2!) Its not always a luxury to be able to do the complete set since we have worldy deadlines hunting us down even as we speak (procrastinate, procrastinate). Being thankful to the Almighty sets us in the right direction and i believe puts us in a more tranquilized flow of thought..

As the days go by, less and less people show up for the prayers.. I guess you could say it is expected, a sad expectation at that. Or maybe its the weekend, and everyone else has gone home.

In the end, we had the mosque pretty much to ourselves (for some odd reason -being odd because I have never asked my friends about this, I like to pray next to my friends and my mum. tu jek. org len tak suke. wakaka..)

Bakal-bakal pemimpin umat..

Manusia yang harus diberi pimpinan..haha, we snuck out the window and had funn jumping on the dome domes! Will look foward to another round of that.

This last one is my favourite, I'll keep on working on my shots, and maybe I'll get better.

my last ramadhan..

The next 20 plus days will be highly noted in all muslims' calendar throughout the world. Unfortunately, I have to see it in a more pessimistic tone of color. Im rather sad that this will be my last ramadhan with my friends of some 4 odd years. They've sorta grown on me. Hehe. So instead, I have promised myself that I will embrace this month as if there is no tommorow and I will not mope (or sleep, for that matter) around all day eventhough I am drained and wilting as I await the sunset patiently.

Some things I am looking foward to in the near future... a heavenly weekend of prayers, and hopefully squash. As well as a trip to witness the lantern celebration in Ipoh on thursday. Im gonna make sure the people Im bringing along in the name of good deed will send their photos as entries in the photgraphy competition held during the same event. Im just going for the sake of taking pictures and having iftar with my luved ones.

Happy ramadhan to all muslims throughout the world, may peace be upon you. amin.

nokia N70

news from back home, my dad finally gave up his reallly old nokia model, sort of the ones that came out during the time of the butterfly. and he gave it up for a N70. uber cool. now im getting all sorts of feed back from my parents. mom said that my dad keeps on exploring his phone but keeps getting the menus all mixed up, and my dad can't wait to have his kids home so that we could study the darned gadget for him hahaha..klaka kan?

in geneva, you can get all sorts of phone (usually the latest models) at extremely good deals. my dad's N70 for instance is free of charge, provided you sign up for a new # with the provider. cool x? so this week, he's probably gonna get another one. and he was hinting if i wanted one then he could get one for me. the thing is, N70 tu comes in only silver and i dont want to have the same type of phone as my dad. so im guessing my mom will get a new phone, but she doesnt really like fancy gadgets..and i will not let my younger brother have it..xci x ciii..

N70 has a 2 megapixel integrated camera with how many times zoom tah, mp3, gprs, bluetooth and loads of other features my dad will definitely not use! the one i want? preferably something with 3G that way i can see my parents' faces, nice! something like the N72, but im not sure if this one has 3G though..

find out more about my dad's N70, and my desired N72 here.

the banquet

after the Jcard sale, gc & i checked out the late-nite movie available on a weekday. lucky for us, and clever on jj's behalf to actualy show late-nites. we watched the banquet. so for you guys who haven't watched it, *spoiler* ahead!! you've been warned kay!

the movie is about a chinese kingdom where the emperor marries his own son's friend (zhang ziyi) as his 2nd wife. the prince (daniel wu) has the hots for his own step-mother now and sbb die majok, he runs off to a village and embraces art and dance. the emperor is murdered and the prince has to go back for his father's funeral. his uncle plans to take over the throne as the prince is never around to actually become a successor.

the uncle marries ziyi and she has plans to bring him down for killing her late husband. but the new emperor is not that dumb. and the story unravels itself as a web of untrusting family members, secret lovers, cruel leaders and ancient chinese customs where anything the emperor says goes. *in the end, everyone is killed as a result to everyone's own doing and the only person left alive is the emperess. she is somewhat mcm da gile in the end and plans to crown herself as the emperor of china. but in nearing the end.. a dagger is aimed at the emperess and so really, in the end, everyone dies.*

ponderings & comments :

i would classify this movie as a heavy literature ladden type of movie. not your typical happy-go-lucky chinese film. it is in mandarin, with english subtitles. the language used is very figurative, u need to be focused so as to stay on track and to enjoy the message. there are loads of beautiful scenes, where they fight, dance and the cinematography is absolutely magnificent.

i personally enjoy this type of movie!! i loved this one. i just dont get who killed the emperess in the end..sape ek?

(on a scae of 1-5 i give this a 4.5)

J-Card Sale

On a fine Thursday morning, gc & I decided to head out to my first ever J-Card sale. We headed straight after class and had our magrib prayers in the xtau sgt nama masjid tu tp yg bulat2 biru in the middle of town. Upon arrival there was a massive jam and I had to head out alone to make sure I had enough time to shop.

Massive x massive?? Ramai gile busuk nye aahh.

So there I was in my department, and I started grabbing at whatever I fancied, for fear that all these shop crazy women were gonna snatch ‘em any minute now..(the clock was ticking okay). And when I did, the salesperson said to me, “that one after less you get if for 100 only” a hundred? What was it, some leather piece of art? So looked at what I was actually holding in my hands..

Ooh. Praise the lord. It was a bloody rm199.90 (the pic is proof)

Pour moi. For me. How selfish of me. Hahaha..

But then there’s always the discount corner..

A myriad of choices!

I didn’t really want to try anything on, but I waited in the fitting room anyways to contemplate which items I grabbed that I should actually buy.

So I ended up checking myself out. (haha..tipu jer..seriously out of topic now) and yea, in the meanwhile gc was still searching for a parking spot.

And then he surprised me with his handful of shirts.. 10 hengget? Apsal baju boys ni mura tahap gaban nye..

I tried talking him into buying all 3 but to no avail (I failed. Again. haha)

Here’s gc all busy shopping hahaha

And the least fun part.. I observed that during this massive sale, you could actually get away with stealing, especially if the items didn’t have the pin/metal detector thingy. Mcm la ade org cek beg ngn receipt.. (im not that low pleasee)

I had to look for gc all over, my phone didn't have any credit and there was no coverage sbb jem sgt kot kc mlm tuh.. so here he is trying to smooth out my frowning face

In the end he actually had to buy me one of these..jht x? (ade less laaa)

And I got him one of these luvly things..nice, never came across them before..see what a massive sale can do to your senses??!!

A great experience!! Can’t wait for the next J-Card event!! (pengsan gc bace ni..)

the end of it all

the worst is over. at least for now. i just had a round of squash and roti milo... and came back to a startling suprise. i got back some things from my past. but the dumb thing is, they were empty and of no use to me. so whats the point of giving them back to me anyways?

now i have the urge to put the finished bottle under somebody's car tyres so that the smashed bits of maroon glass will somewhat leave my mark in history. or at least on the road. i know this is not making any sense.. you might see me lurking in the dark with my sidekick roomate at around 1 a.m. im too happy with my life right now. being selfish is a self healing state of being.

f**k. now i smell like him.

don't change..

The first rule to harmonic equilibrium in a relationship is thou shant try to change thy partners, or at least this banned activity should be put to practice to the minimum.

Loved ones from my past, my present and presumably my future will be involved with smoking, so why fight it? The 10% saturated CO2 in your blood content doesn’t mean a thing. In fractions it means that 1 liters out of 10 of your blood is tepu of CO2. Tepu ok?! (That’s why people came up with series like House M.D. duhh)

So when someone is diagnosed for lung cancer or liver failure, we feel sorry. But if it’s due to excessive smoking, then not one bit shall I pity you. Pity you for being so stupid, yes. Other than that, no.

If by means a pack of Marlboro 20s is your definition of worldly delights, then be my guest and knock your socks off!

At loss of principles.

musicf3st

hoping to join the other millions posting their own ravings for the just previously held musicf3st at st.john's ambulance hall in ipoh, i will try to get it all down in just one blog entry. for some oddball reason i wasnt in the mood to get all hyped and take photos using +2 exp and test my iso settings on my P&S, so the music really got to me.

its a shame, those with talent but didnt catch the audiences' attention purely had the whole hall to themselves. at some point of the show, we were outside imitating the lets-puke-the-whole-song-thru noise (geli gile, but it was totally fun, no lyrics!) and then there were those who really got their arrangement going. i was rooting for 4:25, gc's ex band who had luvly bong as their leads..that was adorable. then there was daphne with darma up front with a big "im mr.charismatic" plastered all over his forehead, EWD featuring pinki and frens, then theres the hantu boys who sang...songs. silent noise as the ultimate idols were magnificent, even took the chance to take some pics with the band members *danger* hahaha (will upload later).

monkey-ing around during recess hehe..

didn't really plan to babble so much about the event, while isis were performing evanescence's bring me back to life..everyone was glued to the stage for the same reason. i was sitting really close to the speakers..in my own deafness i focused on the stage lights, blinking systematically, and at how funny legs looked bouncing to and fro if there was no music.

wonder what color the stage was then..

it had been a long day for me and i just realized how good looking the singer was on stage, it was only justice for me to tell myself that i would look just as gorgeous if i was onstage sporting the same do..hahaha..haselll~

what a great conclusion..gudnite ladies and gentlemen!!

a taste

i bid myself bienvenue as i bravely venture out into the world of blogging. its pretty much freefall from here as there will be moments when i will be spilling my beans shamlessly on everything to no avail. Oh well, be that as it may. the latest news from home, TGV fares to Paris in December is down to 5 euros, my dad has finished paying for the car so my parents are debating whether or not to head east to Prague for their yearly porcelain fix, and thus far into my ninth semester i am happy to announce that i have yet to have a nervous breakdown. to many more posts by me!

cheers.
