29 hours a tad too much

I have safely arrived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our trip took us a whopping 29 hours. I personally did not expect it to take 29 hours, and just bull headed my way to KLIA wee early in the morning. I woke up that morning not feeling like I wanted to go. But who was I kidding, better go and leave all this crazy-work-world of mine behind. Haha. Hepi.

Abang had a volleyball match that morning so it was just F and I. Ajak came to bid Zarina adieu. Our journey began when we found out that the seats we booked were handed to some other pair. What a total waste of my time. Like, 4 + 12 hours of my time. From KL to Taipei and then from Taipei to LA. Hoh penat siot. I watched a few good movies and scoffed on anything with rice in it for fear of tasting the last good cooked rice before arriving to the states. LAX wasn't what we expected it to be..mcm boring. We had to rush off to the Domestic Terminal 4 for American Airlines, and checked in via computer. Canggih~

Our flight to Dallas was at 4 pm and we were expecting to arrive 3 hours later, at 7pm. Our connecting flight to Tulsa was at 1030pm. We go to Dallas Airport and fussed over coin operated machines cause we were both so thirsty. The machine rejected all our coins and we sadly headed to the skylink to proceed to gate D27. It was then in the train that we saw the time on the screen screaming... 10:00pm!! The time zone changed?? Wahahah cuak gilerrr miss flight. Tanak tido Dallas!!

We frantically made it to D27 and boarded the flight to Tulsa. The steward was a silly goof. "Good evening everyone and welcome to flight Dallas headed for New York (gasps!!)...just kidding" Boleh mcm tu??

Another one would be.. "This is your seat belt, wear it nice and tight just like JLo does" Hahaha..

And once we landed at the airport, "Please beware when opening the overhead compartment and make sure that your shoes match your outfit.." Haha. Klaka kan?? For someone who had been travelling for more than a day, I needed a break.

Haha. Penat gile. I doubt I will ever do this again.

Saye pergi dulu Love

Syukur, Alhamdulillah.. I passed my entrance exam with so-so colors. Nevertheless I have a lot to be grateful for.

Just a tad sad that I will be leaving my F. This part is always the hardest. For sure I will cry a bit, he has always been around for me day in and day out. Haiyaa. So saddd. This is one of the most unstructured posts I have ever came up with. I just feel like I want to vent out how I feel about leaving him. Cemane nak keje kapal ni syg??

On off pon, we are used to not seeing each other for short periods. For him it is harder, cause he is the more attached type. As we say it, manje. This time I will be leaving him, again, for 8 weeks. The gifts and presents I get for him will be of no replacement of me not being here for him.

All the best, love. I love you very much. Sedihnye.

So Contradicting

So I will quote,"She will progress to be a strong CTS Technical Engineer with continued field exposure to gain more experience.." October 2008.

In the oilfield, the only way to learn is if they throw you straight into it..not wait for you to pick up the manual and then ponder upon something. The sad thing is, this year was supposed to be a high activity year for me. Instead, I sat around waiting for a campaign that did not take place cause the well came to life. And now I am typing this entry as I wait for my lunch partner and will continue with part-2 of my entrance exam after eating.

You want me to be competent, but you do not see the point of sending me offshore. Then what is it that you are really saying? And to think that your boss used to be where you are now at is just bonkers to make sense of their training tactics.

Bluerghh!!

The Snail Bites

Ever since we’ve self proclaimed ourselves to be in the clan of the snail family, I’ve observed that things have gotten the best of you. Sure, a little BHP won’t do you any harm. Especially in the self-esteem department. The last thing you need is a little nitro to boost your confidence. It’s like the 3rd installment of the Transformers. Total overkill.

Not only do you now seem to talk down to other smaller four-stroke chambers, but you also lift yourself up onto your own pedestal. Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate good handling skills and the ability to dodge traffic. And please do not take me for a bimbo who only pays for your fcuking gas. The terminology tapau has been in my vocabulary way before I met you.

All I ask of you is to be a bit considerate, after all what is a date if we spend the night burning the tyres and I spend the next few rainy days in agony of hearing you whine about you not having any grip on wet surface? Kemaman is a pretty small town. It doesn’t take long before you start recognizing the cars and their numbers. You raise your hand for a wave, you say. I’m pretty sure it’s your middle finger you are airing.

So when a vtec EK4 cuts in front of you and takes the lead, don’t get angry if I tease you by asking why the dude raised his hands at you. I sure as hell know it’s not because you guys are friends. You always seem to forget that it was you who reminded me that a vtec plays the straights, cause they perform better on the drag.

The best self-taught lesson you made me go through was when you asked me in disgust whether I understood the art of racing or not?

Yeah mister, the art of racing is pretty obvious.

The winner is whoever’s in front. Duhh.

Pertunangan Abang

June still remains a month of wonderful events for our family. And the summit was definitely Abang's engagement with his girlfriend, Liza. The event took the whole day as our families with a total of 7 cars went to Batu Pahat, to send the ring to the ring bearer.

What was most fun and memorable about the whole thing was that we watched before our eyes the events unfold. First mama went off to Batu Pahat to scope out the place. Hehe. So that she wouldn't faint or get shocked by what she was going to see on the big day itself. And then there was the late night 'arts and crafts' session Mama and I would do, along with my Maksu and my dear cousins around to help out with the hot glue gun and ribbon folding all the other stuff.

Both my parents have left for Yemen. I feel a bit sad. But back at home, surely Abang will feel the emptiness of the house more. Ashwan has started his first day in uni, and I am here missing all these sweet memories..

Wishing for them to come back, so I can make hot tea at 5, wait for my brother to come home with the banana fritters, pester Ashwan so that he'd let me sit on the sofa he's been sleeping in since the night before, listen to my mom tell me the same piece of gossip she just told yesterday and wait for my dad to start making a fuss about something he misplaced and left right underneath his nose.

Dreaming is free, huh?
