W : Ini cerita nikah

The moment I have been waiting for..to share in this small space what went through my mind as the ceremony went on, and Faliq continued to put on his serious face.

I couldn't keep a straight face, what with Faliq facing me, all dolled up with two-way foundation on his left cheek and the Imam asking him to repeat the lines. "Eh dah salah da lah, saya hafal yang lain" (Oh man, I memorized something different!) Faliq being him, cracking up jokes and making fun of himself before the real deal went down.

Alhamdulillah, all I felt was happy happy. A solid full stop. Like, hey there we go. Of course before he shook my dad's hands I was in disbelief, eh eh betul ke ni? Haha. We finally did what we came to do. Married. Elated. I wanted to smile all day. It felt like Faliq finally committed himself to me and it felt real good.

I did not cry that day, thank God. It would have been sappy if Mama and Dad had to read out the 'I declare hereby that I have handed over my daughter to you..etc etc' bit. To come to think of it, it was a more happy event than a sad one.

Picture purposely cut off by my Jengae. Love the color! Simple pink for family and whites for us. Keeping it simple, is key.

I had a ball getting wedding shoes. I didn't spend more than rm200 on a pair, and resulted in getting a new one for each set of clothes I wore throughout our wedding celebration. Ok almari kasut da penuh.

My favourite candid shot. Love the deep green background, and Faliq's made up face. Luckily you can't see his tumtum.

D'villa Felda, charged at rm4000 for a reception of 50 pax. Enough food on the menu to go around to taking home some. Simple and spacious interior if you haven't got the luxury of getting married in your own house. And the good thing is they arrange your Imam and witness as well.

Having a ball with the girls. Best friends Azimah, and Wothen.

Ok da penat. Tengok dalam kain sendiri pon boleh find solace. Haha.

Love you apis.

W : Executive Summary

Let this be the recollection, pieces of blindingly happy thoughts I have kept with me since the day it happened. This level of ecstasy, I have never felt before.

I've been counting down to the day I will finally be declared as his wife. It's something pretty major. To think back on that time, I had various people asking me if I was feeling nervous inside. Frankly speaking, I had too little time on my hands to feel everything BUT nervous. Seriously, I was as cool as a cucumber. Other than the fact that my nikah papers were officiated only 3 days before the event, didn't fluster me one bit. (ok tipu)

Begin the day bright and early, pack a spacey tote bag so that u have everything you could possibly need for the day - super spandex panties to give you that 'lift' (haha bongok kin) , a face towel, perfume and lotion, own make-up in case any crisis should occur, loads of pins, and THE most important thing is to bring your own hankey and a bunch of friends whom you adore.

I had my make-up done by Freida. He was a really friendly and talkative make-up artist. Didn't feel the need to not voice out anything. Such as the fact that I don't shave or trim or thread my eyebrows (like, seriously kin?) Told me I must have botoxed my chin instead. Hm.

So glad it turned out OK. Worries me the most that we have to get ready facing away from the mirror thus left clueless on the progression of our face. And then, relying on your best friends' eye signal to communicate if its fugly or just ugly.

Muke bersyukur kerana tidak seperti penari memakai topeng opera cine.

My florist and I conceptualized the idea of lilies formed straight and tall like a pencil box. But, well. It doesn't really had to look like a pencil box for me to fall in love with my own bouquet! Tsk tsk. And you were wondering why I didn't throw the lovelies away?!

Hantaran were all done by Mama..but she bought the flowers from a local florist located in Melawati. Her name is Kak Sue. She took notes on what I liked, and just kept on saying I'm so laid back. Thanks for the flowers kak Sue!!

Oh shit, this entry has become a messy mix of product review and I've lost sight on what I wanted to express my feelings on. Damn you fast keyboard!!

My next modus operandi is to blog about each and every aspect of my solemnization, so I get to share what was the thinking process that went on. And what the final outcome were. Haha. Ok I'm sooo going to print this into a BOOK!

Ok aku penat gile arini.

W : Hantaran(s)

I've decided to consolidate the pictures and stories so that I tackle each aspect with equal amounts of love and respect.

My hantaran (gifts) were all decorated by Mama! I'm not sure where she got the cupcakes, but the flowers were from Kak Sue florist (nearby Melawati Police Station) and most of the ribbons and flower petals on the sides of the tray were bits and bobs mama put together. Most of this stuff you can get in good quality and standard price within Jalan TAR area.

For the beaded fabric that covers the tray, Mama had the time to stitch up her own set. Using material she got from the markets in Yemen.

The dipped flowers were also her handicraft. Its quite feasible. The hard part would be to bend the metal wires into leaf and flower petal shapes. The choice of color is endless!

Please please please discard this as an attempt to be obnoxious or a complete show-off. This entry has an early cut-off since I've used up my extra hour from coming in early to the office this morning.

Credit pics goes to my friend Jengae, and also lil' bro Ashwan.

Gambar lama

See Jeng, you have a steady hand.

This week it feels just the same as any other week. Its a hard thing to shrug off. From being the celebrated newly-wedded couple to the long distance I'll see you around boyfriend girlfriend. Paham ke?

Cepat la ada line tlefon ke, ape ke. It gets boring not having anyone in particular to wish goodnight to sometimes.
