Okmulgeee is a name of a place

Random thoughts of today.. I'm currently reading Howard Gardner's Changing Minds, so far the read is pretty good. I hope he will enlighten me with solid facts on human behaviour. I'm at the part where he introduces the reader with the 80/20 Principle that this guy Koch came up with.. like how only 20% of our effort is needed to achieve 80% of what we set out to do, and how 80% of profits actually only come from 20% of the products. Stuff like that. I'm totally up for a roller coaster ride on this one.

The guys all had a blast last night, I guess. All of them came on the school bus wearing shades, nodding and asking each other to just shutt woupppp. They must have had a lot to drink last night, what with no assignments and just a load full of self study expected from you. Even I went and hit the gyms, saying hello to my soon to come wings. Haha. I wish I had wings. Sort of in the abstract way, like on angels. Tee hee.

We've had a few silent days, mostly due to his work. Long meetings that dragged on to more than one day. Bad internet connection. The usual. His photos had a bunch of stuff in them. Some of them annoyed me, amazingly. Pictures of pretty feet that were not mine. I wouldn't want to nag on those that were taken before we were together. Whatever shit lah.

Tomorrow I am heading out to walmarto again. We love the Dohnuts!! Super soft, and if you leave them for more than a day, they turn chewy on the sugary coating and the inside stays moist.

Most of the picture taken were when I was away for work. Oh snap.

Under Water with Me

This time its just you, me and the deep waters. Coming all the way to the states was a nice break. Something I've been looking forward to with uncertainty and high level of anxiety. Every time I think about the work or at least my work table in Kemaman..I will shudder with disgust and pray thanks to God for this training I am in.

Its not that I hate my job that much..but most of it is not going my way and I am always finding myself not in unison with my managers. Which, can be a big pain if they start to gang up on you. I just want to go offshore..

Lucky for me, I am not alone here. I have my buddy Zarina with me and we make a note of not talking too much about work as it seems to cast a shadow over everything else on our minds. Like, the course. Haha. It seem time is doing what it is doing best, passing by in a jiffy. I fear the day I have to return back to Kemaman. Haha. Do I really hate my job that much??

We went to the Oklahoma Aquarium, and there was the great sea turtle. There were 2 of them, and the tank was so big. They both looked so calm, serene. At peace.

I wanna grow old like them.

First Week in US

Let's see let's see.. Kinda overdue..but here goes. My first week so far has been a blast! Minus the downsides of it. I'm really looking forward to making myself feel at home with the weeks to come.

The boys in my class are a good bunch. Instantly Zarina and I could differentiate the geniuses, Des Amigos, Le Ruskis and then theres just Nick. Haha. So we have a Columbian, Indian, Mexicana, Russians, Americans and us Malaysians. What a spicy mix! Theres only 9 of us, so I expect for us to get pretty close. And the boys are very kind and speak loud in class so that Ildar does not have to wait that long before getting an answer.

We had our first week exam on Saturday. It was open book. But, for those of you who have never taken an open book exam..those are pretty much the impossible type. We were supposed to be done by 12 but then Ildar decided to let us submit it by 6pm. We completed the task together and all got around the same answer and headed out to McAllister's for some lunch.

And then..We headed out to Woodlands Hill Mall for some soul torturing. Haha. As stated in the entry below. Wiha~!!

Mad about Madden

Yesterday after exams Zarina, Mansur, Dima and I headed out to Woodland's Hill Mall. It was a nice change, after spending a week in the hotel rooms and the dark classroom.. We needed to air out our brains with some retail therapy. We basically ran in and out of Abercrombie, Hollister, Wet Seal, GAP..endless endless. Oh and of course Victoria Secret.

Notionn Gold. My latest splurge. Tak la splurge sangat, since it was on SALE~!! And it was even lesser than the price shown if you go to stevemadden.com =) I came without bringing any sort of sandals or slippers - my all time must have to wear. Of course intentionally. So that I could drool over these babies!!

Next up. This blue leathered piece called Cheryl. Either in deep blue or deep purple. Haven't made up my mind yet. But - Zarina and I have decided not to buy so much while we are here in Oklahoma. For fear of the better things that await us when we get to L.A. at the end of the course!! Oh selamat Hari Raye everibadi!!
