Pattinoire

Every time we visited geneva in the winter, we would definitely drop by the skating rink, or as they say it, le pattinoire. When my brother was still schooling here in LGB (le grand brossiere or something like that) he would go there almost every week accompanying my mom out shopping. The rates are pretty much standard throughout the city. 4 francs for enfants under 15 and 7 for adults. The one we went to was the one in the middle of Bel-air. It was pretty small compared to the ice hockey field just behind our apartment complex but I wanted to take photos in the city so there goes. More pics below =)

Nervous at first, since its been a while since I last skated, but I didnt fall =)

Along this street is the boutiques with the likes of LV, dior, Gucci, and even baby dior~

ashwan n me

sponsored by McDonalds, he didn't fall I just nagged him to pose.

Penat gile lepas main, and we had to wait for mama since she kept our shoes with her. Bloody freezingg!

Salmon a l'aneth avec sauce creme

A few days back we went to the adidas factory outlet which is in the same premises as nike, navyboot, levi's and ikea. I bought a few things and we had lunch at ikea. The poached salmon was only 8.90 chf and i had salmon peche or something like that for 12.50 chf.
So I said to my mum that I wanted to prepare the salmon at home in white sauce and eat to my hearts content! And so I did =)

Pasta was also on the menu..

In the wee morning my mum and I headed to the supermarket in the back and bought the ingredients.

Marinate the salmon in pepper and salt just to taste.

Preboiled potatoes ready to bake in salt, pepper, some basil and spices with dollops of butter.

White sauce? In a package, so simple et delicioux! Just add milk, and water and pour over the salmon and pop into oven for 15 minutes!!

The salmon all ready to be devoured miahahaha~ that is, after 15 mins in the oven.

The potatoes all ready and pipping hottt, to be served with the salmon.

Mama's plate, she had the fish later.

Up close, a baked potato+some mayo+crisps of baked cheese+sprinkles of basil..ooo mamamia!

My salmon plate, sedap nyeee!!

Babies & La faucille

On one fine sunday morning, the 1st of Jan im presuming, we became the tourist guides to a group of paris-living-malaysian-officers and their kids. All in we were a party of 8 cars. So yea, at every traffic light we would have to signal right and wait a while for those who got stuck and once in a while even got lost. They came all the way down here for a skiing trip. But too bad the warm weather in europe has somewhat stunted the snowfall rate. It has been around 6-8 degrees celcius only and snow was scarce. My family knew this, but owing that much to abg azam and his family for letting us crash at their place, we tried to look for snow in La faucille.
Fortunately, we found snow!! And the parisians all had little kids and babies, so they were a fun lot to watch. Most of them have no experience with snow, so we tought them how to make snow balls, all compact and full so that they won't fall apart in mid-air.
This is uwaiz, he's got a baby brother that looks just like him. All the kids that were brought up in europe have no problem wearing the propper attire no matter how uncomfortable they may be. Compared to kids who have just arrived from malaysia, they are a lot more stubborn to be donned with the snowcap and all.

This is Imran, il parle beacoup francais. haha, and so does his sister, and they would be cursing and babbling in french all the way. mon dieu. Imran was tamed pretty well by us, and in the end they've all got snow in their jackets and gloves all wet.

Group photo with the 7 other families. Imagine 7 families + 1 all had to share one sledge. Even the parents had to queue up for their turn. I had to ride with a few toddlers and I hit the brakes a bit too early, we ended up rolling in the snow. haha. Risau la bwk budak kecik2 laju2..

We only brought sandwiches for snacks, but the paris troop prepared all sorts of lauk pauk, mmg lunch la!

Uncle Zainuddin's baby, a reall cutie, she's 2 years old and likes chicken. Look at her hoodie, it stays on like that throughout the whole snow ordeal.

And this is zana, a hottie. Seriously.

This is uncle manor's babieess.. haha, after our snow trip, we headed to Geneva and gave them a simple tour since all the shops were closed on holidays.

Lost Luggage

To some since its the new year, lost of luggage is nice. Especially when it is in access. Stupid MAS system. Okay, not being the most patriotic dimwhit am I today, maybe some other day then. So the story is pretty simple and narrated in a monotonous tone. The bag got on a zurich flight heading straight to klia and got lost. God knows where. Where? I am seething with rage but I can see that it does really no good. Its a direct flight for goodness sake!! It would've been a totally different scenario if the flight had 2-3 transits in more exotic places..but it was an express bus trip!!

Why am I so upset? Well, mostly due to the fact that almost 99.9% of the things in the bag was new and some of it wasn't even my stuff! Like my brother's leather shoes and my aunts perfumes and not to mention other stuff I got for my friends and family. Its been 4 days since I lost my bag to some mean old creature lurking in the airports and it is also 4 days since I have taken a bath. So what.

I hate gut feeling, the one I had as I was locking up the black ashworth bag to post it along with a family friend on his way back to malaysia. I hate having shards of sixth sense lost in pieces in different parts of my brain. And most of all, i HATE losing my luggage!!
